About Drama Llamas

My best thing is when we pretend to be other people and make faces like them

Drama is more important than just performance

Children learn best when they are having fun, so drama is a perfect tool for learning. Drama Llamas helps children understand the structure of stories, play with language and understand emotions while exploring characterisation. These building blocks give those who wish to perform in the future the skills to do it well; but for others it develops the confidence to take on more day to day challenges such as speaking up in class or giving presentations in the workplace.

Something for everyone

It’s wonderful to see the children develop as each term progresses. The quiet ones grow in confidence and the lively ones learn to listen and take turns. We’re proud of each and everyone of them! Read what people are saying about us

About Helen and Caroline

Helen and Caroline

With five children between us we find ourselves being constantly surprised and delighted by our children’s boundless imaginations. We wanted to engage further with their imaginative play and to make the most of this special time. This gave us the springboard to create Drama Llamas.

Caroline is a trained professional actress, holding a first class degree in Performing Arts from Manchester University. Caroline has worked extensively in theatre, television and radio. However, the work she found the most rewarding was that carried out in children’s Theatre in Education, youth drama groups and phonics and linguistic audio projects.

Helen has a PPE degree from Oxford University and worked for 8 years in the Civil Service. She was always most at home, however, in front of a class of children. She is trained to facilitate education through drama and has extensive teaching, activity leading and coaching experience, both at home and abroad.

Caroline’s talents and experience combined with Helen’s natural flair for creative writing and storytelling has resulted in a well-balanced and winning team. Together we have designed a fun-filled programme to provide both children and parents with stimulating sessions where they can learn through play.
